We went, we saw but unfortunatly we didnt conquer. Wagga Marine had 3 teams in the Australian National Yellowbelly Championship on the weekend of the 28th April, Wagga Marine 2 - Dave & Mick were the highest placed of the 3 of us on the weekend which was 6th overall, Wagga Marine 3 - Patto & Lee were placed 20th & Charlie and Harro were placed 23rd.
The competition was pretty much dominated by Stacer boats, with nearly one third of the boats being the Stacer brand and three quaters of those sold by Wagga Marine. Honda outboards were also very strong in numbers with 7 motors coming to the fore,
Dave and Mick caught the largest yellowbelly in the Wagga Marine group at 45cm and walked away with the prize. Everyone who had a Honda and or a Stacer received a hat and whoever had a Wagga Marine sticker on thier boat were in the running for the prize. (1st picture)
After participating in a competition and finding it a little less than relaxable, Wagga Marine is going to have thier own "competion" and what that will entail is that if you send in a picture of yourself or somone holding a fish (preferably alive unless you are going to eat it) and you have on some sort of Wagga Marine shirt, hat, sticker, etc in the picture, you are in the running for a gift worth at least $100.00. This will be a monthy gift from Wagga Marine and could range from a minimum $100.00 gift voucher in the shop, a fishfider, a $100.00 discount on a service, chandlery, etc. You will just have to participate to enter, at no cost to you. The pictures will then be displayed in the image gallery for all to see. It will then culmonate in, at an appropriate time & place - yet to be determined - in a fishing trip with a much larger gift/s and a good time to be had by all.
So get out there and go fishing, have some fun, take a picture and send it to craig@waggamarine.com.au who knows, just from going and having some fun, you may walk away with a nice gift from Wagga Marine!
